Product Description
Ignition "HPI" 75-77 Maico MC250 75-77, MC400 75.5-77, MC440 75.5-77
The kit includes a stator, CDI, coil magneto, plug cap, kill switch and mounting hardware. This ignition has no lighting coils. It is for motocross use. HPI is the go to source for electronic ignitions for vmx bikes.
The magnetos do not have a keyway. You have to set the timing with a dial indicator and then torque down the crank nut. They stay in place once tightened.
All warranty work needs to be done through HPI. We will help with the process as much as possible. Please note that if you have any failures, you may have to ship the part back to us for inspection. HPI offers a 30 day limited warranty against manufacturing defects.

CDI big improvement
An after market product that does what it claims to do. I`m impressed the ignition bolted straight on and nothing had to be changed or altered. Fitting was a straight forward process, all the electrical connections were straight forward and it would be hard to get them wrong. Now the best part, straight after installing my new HPI ignition I gave my 1976 Maico 250 one kick and it fired up and the performance now is much better than it was before installing this kit. The only improvement would be the addition of a rotor bolt. If you are having ignition problems with your maico I would have no problems recommending a HPI ignition system.
